Grillo started life destined to produce some of the best sweet, Marsala dessert wines. It almost disappeared from dry wine production by the 1970’s, but since then it has grown from strength to strength. In this beautiful example, exotic white floral aromas perfume the nose, with chewy, white peach flesh and silky, lemon oil on the palate. Bursting with sunshine straight from the Med’, this is a show stopper all year.
Meet the producer:
Cantina Sociale Sant’Antonio is a Sicilian wine cooperative that uses only its member’s grapes and re-distributes all its profits amongst them. Its fabulous location, cooled by a constant sea breeze from the Gulf of Castellammare, means its growers don’t need to use pesticides and almost all of their wine is still sold locally, in boxes or poured straight into refillable bottles.
