Barbera DOC Piemonte

“Explosive aromas of black & sour cherry burst from the glass. Brimming with the fresh acidity of young blackberries and blackcurrants with touches of purple flowers and bittersweet coffee beans.”

___________

This Barbera comes from a range of hills within the Monferrato UNESCO World Heritage area called the Zuchetto – a word also used to describe the ‘little pumpkin’ hat the Pope wears. Infallibly good, enjoy it with rich risottos, red meat and, why not… haggis.

About the Producer…

Franco Roero farms 15 hectares of vines. He’s a straight-talking, no-nonsense type of guy and his family has been making wine here since 1894. Franco personally manages the entire process – from pruning the vines to harvesting, fermentation and even sales. His passionate belief is that there is only one wine in the world – his Barbera – and only one football team – Juventus.
